What We Believe
Our beliefs are bible-based and confirmed by the experiences of miracles and wonders and
signs (Acts 2 vs 22).
The Bible speaks of being saved though believing Christ. But how are we saved? What is
salvation? Is it a psychological state of mind? Is it secured by just claiming that we are saved?
Is it a mental assent, or even a sincere mental belief in Bible truths relating to Christ? According
to the Bible, salvation is none of these things.
In the Bible, salvation is presented as a supernatural experience by the power of God. We read
that the Gospel is “the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.” Rom. 1, 16.
Ten days after Christ ascended into heaven, and fifty days after His crucifixion, the Holy Spirit
was sent from heaven. This was the Day of Pentecost, an important feast of Israel. Those first
waiting believers were “all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as
the Spirit gave them utterance.” Acts 2, 4. The miracle of speaking with other tongues was the
immediate evidence and outward result of the coming of the Holy Spirit. This miraculous sign
attracted in Jerusalem a questioning crowd of some thousands of people.
After Peter had preached to this multitude concerning the coming of the Holy Spirit, and of the
necessity of salvation, he was asked by many “WHAT SHALL WE DO?” His reply was bold,
and direct. He said —
(1) REPENT, and
(2) BE BAPTIZED every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and
(3) YE SHALL RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST.
We, today, are offered no way of salvation other than this by the New Testament.
